Erforschung neuartiger Hochfrequenzelektronik für Sensorik- und Kommunikationstechnologie

New communication technologies and industrial applications are continuously pressing towards higher frequency ranges. This project aims to research circuits for the frequency range up to 420 GHz. Manufacturing technologies, the connection between chip and antenna, as well as chip design, will be addressed. Demonstrator circuits will be built and evaluated through several optimization rounds. The industry partners will support this effort with their expertise regarding requirements and specifications in specific applications.

The research at IHE addresses the packaging, interconnects and antennas necessary to achieve the envisioned bandwidth of 200 GHz.
