Efficient Millimetre-Wave Communications for Mobile Users (MyWave)

MyWave is a European funded Marie Curie project with the main purpose of training 15 young researchers (PhD candidates) to become experts in key technologies for future mobile telecommunication systems. Throughout the training program, the PhD candidates will each work on an individual research topic that is of high relevance for the successful further development of the next generation mobile telecommunication system (5G and beyond). Each student will spend at least 18 months at an industrial partner. In this way, the outcome of the research will directly benefit the European industry while the young researchers gain experience in an industrial work environment. The contributions from each research topic will be combined in a demonstrator, which will be assembled and tested by the end of the project. More detailed information on the overall project can be found at https://mywave-project.eu/.

Two of the PhD projects will be hosted at the KIT:

P5: Strategies for energy-efficient high EIRP generation in mm-wave wireless radio links (direct collaboration with Ericsson AB, Sweden)

P6: Energy-efficient and low-cost active front-ends for DM-MIMO (direct collaboration with NXP Semiconductors, The Netherlands and Keysight Technologies, Belgium)
