The proliferation of wireless systems operating at mm-wave bands such as automotive radars and emerging 5G systems necessitate investigation of new hardware technology that is more versitale and adaptable to multiple applications and standards. 

The goal of this thesis project is investigating new hardware concepts that support multi-band operation. This includes trade-off studies among broadband designs, multi-band designs and band-switchable hardware. The research will include transistor-level circuit design in state-of-the-art integrated circuit technologies such as SiGe, SOI CMOS and InP.
