The paper entitled ‘Broadband Split Ring Resonator-Based Antennas at 140 GHz in Embedded Wafer Level Ball Grid Array Technology’, by Elizabeth Bekker, Akanksha Bhutani, Lucas Giroto de Oliveira, Theresa Antes and Thomas Zwick, recently won the award for Best Conference Paper at the 17th International Workshop on Antenna Technology (iWAT 2022). The conference was held in Dublin, Ireland from Monday 16th May to Wednesday 18th May 2022. The paper details two different split ring resonator-based antennas realized in Embedded Wafer Level Ball Grid Array (eWLB) technology from Infineon. The work forms part of the ”REGGAE” project (funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), Germany), whose goal it is to develop a high-performance, phase-modulated continuous-wave (PMCW) radar transceiver at 140 GHz for the application of hand gesture recognition.
